As content creators and managers for Hans Dairy's social media accounts, we have proved that our authentic, consistent narrative along with eye-catching imagery has given the brand a unique, rich, and powerful personality.

Founded in 1997, Hans Dairy is the foremost leader in the production and distribution of South Asian dairy products. They were the first to introduce Dahi to the Canadian dairy market and with the popularity of this Indian style yogurt came a follow up line of similar products including Lassi, a yogurt drink; Kheer, a rice pudding; and Makhan, a whipped style butter. With each product their mission stayed the same, to offer their customers a little taste of home.

We wanted to approach the HANS story more like a calm steady voice instead of shouting. We strongly believe that a brand story should be less about the company’s own brand and more about producing a good story where the company is a character, and maybe sometimes, not always the lead.

Our simple but consistent strategy was designed based on the following points while telling the brand’s mission.

• Show how the Hans products can improve the consumer’s life.

• Pack an emotional punch.

• Connect with the audience.

• Tell the truth.

Although we are not limited to culture forward design initiatives, we try to align with opportunities that allow us to showcase and uplift cultural awareness. We are proud of our roots and we want others to feel proud of theirs as well.

Our special promotion for HOLI, the South Asian festival of colour was one of the top viewed posts for Hans Dairy.

CHALLENGE

Designing our first digital geofencing marketing campaign for Hans Dairy, we dove deep into the details about the company’s business goals as well researching the market and its target audience. Based on the outcome we identified the character which Hans Dairy wants to present through its product line. 

APPROACH

After a step-by-step SWOT analysis of the company and it’s product line, we focused on the following design strategy.

• Keeping the original logo untouched, some visual elements such as a refreshing colour palette and typography were added to the original branding guide to create a harmonic corporate style.

• Since the two sisters of the Hans family were taking over the company, animated characters of two sisters were created to represent the change in the leadership in a symbolic way.
